Clear requests. Clear commitments.
These terms describe how Buyers and Someones use Use Someone. They are built around open-world requests, exact-job eligibility, clear commitment and a shared Job Space.
1. Use Someone's role
Use Someone is a Human Capability Network. Buyers describe what they are trying to get done and Someones describe capabilities they can contribute. Understanding a request does not mean the platform supports it, recommends it or has determined that it is legally permitted.
2. Accounts
Keep account information accurate and protect access to your account. One account may be used as a Buyer, a Someone, or both where those features are available.
3. Requests and capabilities
Buyers must describe material job facts honestly. Someones must describe capabilities, credentials, availability and limitations honestly. A declared capability is not the same as a proven capability, a verified credential or eligibility for an exact job.
Someones may choose to make a limited public Capability Passport available. A public profile may show a chosen public name, approximate base area, languages, declared capabilities and trust signals that Use Someone has actually recorded. Legal identity, home address, private contact details and unnecessary credential data are not part of the public profile.
4. Eligibility and professional work
Use Someone may classify a request as available, conditional, credential required, not currently available, under policy review, prohibited or unknown. Professional and regulated work can require current credentials, jurisdiction checks, scope checks or other conditions before matching.
5. Accepting a job
Before commitment, a Buyer may modify, pause or withdraw a request and a Someone may ignore or decline an opportunity. Declining before commitment is not a reliability failure. A Someone commits only through a clear acceptance action after the material job facts are shown.
Before acceptance, an invited Someone may use a limited job question channel to clarify information needed to decide whether to commit. This does not reveal the Buyer's exact address or private phone number and does not replace the Job Space messaging available after commitment.
6. Job Space and changes
After commitment, the agreed scope, timing, area, participants and other material details can be stored as an accepted snapshot. Material scope changes should be recorded and confirmed instead of being hidden inside chat.
A Job may be in person or remote. Remote work may use messages and files, live online help, remote delivery or another agreed remote method. The agreed delivery method is part of the Job record. A remote Job does not require a physical service address unless the actual request later makes one necessary and the parties agree to the change.
7. Messages and translation
Use Someone messaging is intended for communication connected to the platform and the relevant job. Automatic translations may be provided for convenience. The original message remains the source message and users should clarify important details if a translation appears uncertain.
8. Location and contact details
Do not misuse another person's address, location, phone number or personal information. Exact addresses and personal phone numbers should be disclosed only when needed and to relevant participants.
9. Cancellations, no-shows and reliability
Cancellation, no-show, safety, emergency, scope mismatch and eligibility problems are different events. Reliability reflects commitment behaviour separately from capability. Repeated behaviour may lead to proportionate restrictions or review, while legitimate safety or eligibility reasons should not be treated as ordinary unreliability.
10. Safety, reports and blocks
Users may report conduct, block another user or raise a safety issue. A Someone may refuse or leave work that is unsafe, materially misrepresented, prohibited or outside required credentials. Buyers have the same right to raise safety or conduct concerns.
11. Payments
Use Someone does not currently process service payments, payouts or cancellation fees. Payment, refund, dispute and tax-reporting rules must be activated only after the transaction model and applicable requirements have been reviewed.
12. Account action and review
Where practical, serious account restrictions should be supported by a reason, relevant evidence, an opportunity to respond, review and an audit trail. Serious safety, fraud or legal concerns may require faster protective action.
13. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. The rights that apply depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
14. Age at launch and services for someone else
Use Someone accounts are 18+ at the Melbourne launch. An adult Buyer may create a request for another person, including a child, only where the request is supported by Use Someone and the relevant safeguards, credentials and job conditions are satisfied. Creating the request does not bypass those checks.
15. Service price and expenses
Before a Someone commits, the parties must record the service price arrangement shown in Job Space. It may be fixed, hourly or an estimate and can state whether it applies to the whole job or each Someone, whether travel is included, and an agreed materials allowance. Use Someone does not currently process the service payment. A price agreement is a record of what the parties agreed, not a statement that tax, GST, reimbursement or consumer obligations do not apply.
16. Recurring work and repeat relationships
A request may be one-off or repeat. Each occurrence remains subject to availability, eligibility, scope and cancellation rules. Choosing to use a Someone again does not guarantee that person is available or eligible for a future job.
17. Rescheduling
After commitment, a chat message alone does not change the agreed date or time. A material schedule change must be proposed through the structured reschedule flow, checked against affected participants and accepted before the stored schedule changes.
18. Resolution Centre
Users can raise structured job issues such as non-completion, scope disagreement, damage, no-show, conduct, expenses or safety. The Resolution Centre may preserve summaries, responses and evidence notes for review. Opening a case does not automatically determine fault or entitlement.
19. Fraud, scams and account security
Do not request passwords, verification codes, recovery phrases or deceptive payment methods. Use Someone may record risk signals, restrict suspicious activity and ask for review where needed. Automated risk signals are not themselves a final finding of wrongdoing.
20. Reviews and outcomes
Job outcomes and reviews are intended to reflect verified platform jobs. Review submissions can be held from immediate display so one party cannot simply retaliate after seeing the other party's feedback. Use Someone may withhold content that violates platform rules.
21. Insurance
Use Someone does not currently provide platform insurance for jobs. Do not assume that property damage, injury, professional liability or another loss is insured by Use Someone. A user or professional may have separate insurance, but it must not be treated as verified unless Use Someone has actually verified the relevant information.
22. Direct invitations
A Buyer may invite a person they know to review a request. An invitation does not bypass account, capability, credential, eligibility, availability or safety checks.
23. Contact
